makes me realize how carw*w has basically perfected the youtube drag race format

damn...that m3 is jacked. AWD has transformed BWWs performance potential.

Drag races aren’t everything you know, anyone could google the time of each car and know which is faster. Gear heads are interested in handling, stability, driving feel of the cars as well. These videos are so rare.

Rory, have someone do the countdown, please!

These cars make 165mph look like its normal

Do a "U-Drag" race - You race to the end of the runway, turn around, and race back towards the starting line.
Great way to test Acceleration, Speed, Braking, and Corner handling all in one race.

The Wrigley Performance G80 is definitely one of the most consistent 1000+hp S58s I've seen on youtube. It's not constantly going into limp mode or misfiring like some other heavily modded M3s are

11:14 In the brake test it was clear that the right lane had puddles of water and the left lane was dry. Why didn’t you switch lanes between each brake test? That absolutely would have made the difference.

That M3 looks so good. Perfect stance on it.

Would be cool to see a track pack Plaid re-race. Also would be helpful to know what the state of charge is on the Plaid, even though it shouldn't make too much difference if it's above 50%.

You should have changed the lanes in brake test. The other lane was clearly more damp.

they should do a lap round the track too, would be really interesting

That Plaid obviously doesn’t have the track package which unlocks the top speed to over 200mph.. Yet still, hats of to that M3

So the M3 with special racing fuel and special modifications just goes even with the Plaid. The Plaid without the track package held its own. Amazing Plaid.

1-What is the price of the heavily modded M3?

2- Does it have a warranty from this aftermarket performance company or does it now not have a warranty?

A plaid can be purchased for $90k US and is bone stock.

Awesome vid. But i think its not fair to use a tesla with a non track package when the m3 gets to be modified and uses a different fuel.

I was about to say once you said the Plaid did a 10.2 1/4 mile I knew something was wrong.

In my experience, there is always a reason a car doesn't come from the factory as powerful as you can mod it. They always break. I had a Ford F 150 5.o Supercharged and the engine broke TWICE in 26, 000 miles. I had a Jaguar tuned and it broke. Just not worth it. Rather have the stock Tesla at 1020 HP.

Very fast for an M3 to do 9.7 quarter mile times on a greasy track, I reckon both cars will do 9.4 quarter times if the track was a proper drag circuit

Spend $20.000 on the Model S Plaid track pack and you have a 200 mph car with (finally) really good brakes and a 150, 000 mile battery and powertrain warranty. This car traps at 180 mph in the half mile. This BMW would lose in the half and quarter.
