Surviving A Joint Commission Survey

I remember the first time I went through a Joint Commission survey I was very nervous. I wanted to curl up in my office and hide. I had been preparing for months and all the surveyor asked me was "do you have a nutrition care manual?" Months of preparation all boiled down to this one question. Go figure! Inset SMH emoji.
Surveyor after survey, I become more and more confidant. I studied the possible questions Joint Commission could ask. I made sure my HR file was up to job, I had a signed and dated job description, nutrition care manual was accessible to all hospital employees, the polices and procedures manual was up-to-date and that my staff knew the proper temperatures of food and dishwasher, could answer any question about a therapeutic diet, and knew the how to use a litmus test strip.
In today's video I want to prepare you for Joint Commission. Are you ready?

IMO (and I have been working in healthcare for 25+ years, but I am not a nurse) the BEST way to survive JACHO or a state inspection? GO ON VACATION THAT WEEK!
