I just got one and love it. Happy about the dust bag. Velcro is awesome and easy to change.

The best way to keep debris out of the velcro on the head of the sander is to always keep a sanding pad on the velcro. It's one more step to do but it helps keep everything fresh.

Looks good. To give a better chance to remove the dust it can have to have a shop vacuum connected to it as well. Ive been looking at all the different brands of these and the Dewalt looks very well made.

do you feel the cord gets in the way? I want to buy a cordless but I'm concerned about stopping in the middle of my project to recharge batteries.

HAVE THE DWE 6423 (WITHOUT the K), sander. new as of 4 days ago. When in use, it appears that the disk, does not rotate at the same speed as the motor shaft.In other words, there appears to be a second drop down ratio shaft, that slows the disk down. If you look through the disk holes, you can see a clear drive belt.

Holy shit i just found my doppleganger! I too recieved my first orbital sander from my parents for xmas. And I too have never used one. What are the odds.

could you tell me if the filter can be washed with running water? Or how can I clean it?
