Autowatch Ghost Immobiliser 2 Stops Theft of Mercedes C63 AMG

This video shows thieves entering the car having already obtained the vehicle keys from inside the address.
Watching closely you can make out the engine starting and see reverse gear engaged, signalled by the reversing lights coming on. It is on selection of reverse gear when the hand brake automatically releases and the Autowatch Ghost Immobiliser 2 activates and stalls the engine. The thief then makes numerous attempts to restart the engine but the Autowatch Ghost Immobiliser 2 prevents the engine start completely. Instead the Mercedes rolls down the steep driveway and into the road, partially blocking it.
Beaten by the Autowatch Ghost Immobiliser 2 the thief has no choice but to leave the stranded vehicle, return to their getaway car and leave the scene.

My car got stolen recently but luckily it had a tracker on it and was able to tell the police where to locate it. The police recommended for security a ghost immobiliser, disk lock for the steering wheel and faraday patch to keep your keys in.

Had mine professionally fitted by mark and his team on my brand new bmw m240i xdrive. Cant recommend these guys enough for their workmanship and professionalism. Along with a S5 tracker fitted at the same time it has given me piece of mind that my car will still be where i parked it . Easy to use and just second nature putting the pin in when you start the car. Mine works off the gearbox so even if the car is started as soon as a gear is selected the engine shuts down. I see many reports on social media where expensive cars are disappearing overnight and cant for the life in me wonder why people pay are paying all that hard earned money but fail to protect their asset for little money .

Ghost has saved my vehicle twice. Once from relay theft at home before I knew about Faraday pouches, second time, the keys stolen off my desk at work and tried to take it off car park.They ran off with ghe key, luckily only the drivers door has a key barrel, so replaced that and reprogrammed new fob and unpaired old one.

I disabled keyless entry on my cars, stops them using signal boosters/relays to open and start your car. It's really no hardship pressing a button on a fob to open.

Had my 540i stolen the other day in London, what i can say is that around me there were around 15 cars taken in a week, even if you have a tracker and imobiliser, they will still take parts from the car if they can’t take the whole car, and also the police is not of any use at all

Wouldn’t it be best that the car is never able to start full stop?

just a little bit confused, l have a Ghost immobiliser 2 fitted, , , , you can start the car, , , , but you then have to put a code if not as soon as you put it in gear, the engine will cut out?

It was far easier to protect a car in the 1970s. We would park up in London then remove the rotor arm. Not many thieves would be carrying a spare rotor arm for the distributor. Another trick was to remove the coil lead or swap around the plug leads. We never lost a car on our travels. Simples and free.

Had a ghost immobilizer fitted in my Honda Crv 16 months ago. 5 night crawler visits gone empty-handed. I can't recommend it more.

This is why mine is locked away from eyes at night.dont think I'd sleep knowing my car sat on the drive on a busy rd like that.get a security pop-up post fitted.

I’ve had one Range Rover stolen already using relay theft now I have a new Range Rover and made sure I fitted the ghost immobiliser and turned off the keyless entry feature

This works really well. A very relieved owner I'm thinking.
The next question is how easy is it to disable. If they pop the bonnet then they could remove the ghost immobiliser surely, if it was installed it can be removed presumably.

Good idea and gadget but what's the point of it if the car is left abandoned in the middle of the road e.g. oncoming traffic then gets written off for example if an HGV hits it?
