Learn why server virtualization was so successful but desktop virtualization has had relatively limited acceptance thus far. This session will look at the acceptance pattern and reasons for adopting server virtualization, why those reasons are not sufficient to drive adoption of virtual desktops, and what you can do to ensure the success of your VDI initiative regardless of whether you're considering VMware View, Citrix XenDesktop or some other technology. Other thought-provoking topics include desktop "layering", use of local storage, solving the "IO problem" and other common issues and solutions for VDI in 2012.
