Wovoka is one of the most famous of our Northern Paiute people. Along with many other things he is most famous for bringing the ghost dance from his visions into the world. It was twisted into something else and became a catalyst for violent action against plains Indians at the end of the Indian Wars and American Indians weren't allowed religious and spiritual freedom as it was signed into law in 1978.

OMG Yes!!!! Finally someone listening anf getting into Redbone. The lead singer is actually Lolly Vegas but his brother Pat Vegas sang this song. Remember I had you play Witch Queen of New Orleans on the Jukebox? The lead guitar also played by Lolly Vegas, he played his guitar plugged into a Lesly Organ Amp, and he could get some, crazy sounds from it. Lolly passed in 2010. His brother Pat played bass, Tony Bellamy played guitar, piano and vocals. Peter "Last Walking Bear" Depoe is the drummer, he created his own beat on the drums called the King Kong Beat. So now what you need to listen to by Redbone is Prehistoric Rhythm, which features the King Kong Beat.
There are so many songs by this band and they didnt get the recognition they deserved. There are a bunch of us Who are die hard Redbone fans. Any questions, I'm your girl. When you listen to the guitar and it switches up to a different sound or Rythemn, that's called a riff. I am actually friends with Peter Depoe and his replacement drummer Butch Rillera. Oh @Joey you have made me one happy girl.

My favorite Redbone song!  The lead singer on this song is Lolly Vegas.  He also sang "Come and Get Your Love."  His brother Pat sang their big European hit which was essential blocked from single status in America by their label (Epic, if my memory serves me), "We Were All Wounded at Wounded Knee."

It was Jimi Hendrix who suggested to Lolly Vegas to name the band Redbone (Lolly's nickname. Hendrix was a friend and big fan of Pat and Lolly Vegas when they were all jamming on the Sunset Strip along with Jim Morrison/The Doors
