HYPERSONIC drops the new single "Mother Earth" as a preview from their upcoming album, "Kaosmogonia," releasing on April 12th.

"Kaosmogonia" is the culmination of Hypersonic's musical evolution, showcasing a distinctive sound that is powerful, symphonic, epic, extreme, and dramatic. The album is a testament to the band's dedication to pushing creative boundaries and introducing new elements to their signature sound introducing their new singer Eleonora Russo whose exceptional songwriting qualities bring a fresh and dynamic dimension to the band's music.

The first single off the album, "Mother Earth" serves as a powerful manifesto of the human experience. It reflects on the cyclical nature of history and the undeniable force of nature's revenge. This long-running Italian outfit is new to my ear. It's got everything you'd want from a Symphonic Metal tune - melody, vocals, production and musicianship at the high standards you'd expect. I think it lacks enough of a hook to make it stand out, but it's worthy of the SM playlist. My Score: Good 3*

Honestly? A decent song, but a horribly disturbing video, showing a would-be mass murderer with an assault rifle, a violent rape scene, a misogynistic beating, and a hanging. Completely turned me off.

Will I investigate the band further one day? Not likely, even though the music was dramatic and dynamic, the vocals excellent, and the musicianship impressive - the band shows promise.

But the video left a horrible impression on me, and first impressions always matter. Not sure who thought adding these scenes would be a good idea, but that someone should be fired. Now, when thinking about Hypersonic, this video will spring to mind and I'll be thinking of mass-shootings, non-consensual sex, and suicide.

Nope, not even close to making a good first impression.
