I love that you included the ending and the importance of parents speaking positively to their kids! Kids will absorb the attitudes of the adults around them.

Never been so thankful that we homeschool since this pandemic hit. We didn't have as much anxiety over trying to educate our kids since we just carried on with what we were doing BUT we miss our friends, our activities, our co ops, etc. Pandemic homeschooling is not the same

My daughter who HATES school would rather be there, then distance learning from home. Its a miracle!

My favorite part is the end. "Parents sell it!" If you as a parent feel out of control, imagine how your kids feel. Not only is it possible they don't get to go back to school, they could also be stuck at home with parents vocal about not wanting them there. That's the kind of rejection that can cause life long problems. Penn and Kim thanks for the fun videos that we watch as a family. Laughing together is the best.

I love these people so much!

Sanity is kept, during these times, because of the Holderness family. And Kim is a gem! 💎😊

I love on you ended this! Parents need to sell it to their children and be confident about their decision. Thank you for that! As a teacher, you hit many of the concerns regarding younger students with masks, parent checks at home. YOU NAILED IT! 🙂. Michigan has a 60+ page document MI Safe School Roadmap, basically, it depends on where we are at. Phase 1-3....remote learning. Phase 4-6...return to brick and motor with restriction, strongly recommend and recommend.

Love you guys to the moon and back. We're in Houston, which is the current hotspot along with Florida. While I would give almost anything for everyone to return to school, I think we're going to homeschool again. Why? Because we want to make it easier on the parents and kids who MUST return to school due to financial or life need. If we can step back and allow them in first, the social distancing may be easier.

Plus, it'll give the kids extra time to come and visit me in the insane asylum, which is where I'll be due to 2020. Sending love to all the parents in America who are struggling.

“We’re going to sell it - because our kids are watching us.” Yes!! Thank you so much for the light and encouragement you bring to us. Middle and high school teacher here - I appreciate so much this conversation!

We are in our 22nd year of homeschooling. My last one is a senior this year. I am so grateful that we don't have to deal with all of this crazy. Praying for all public school families.

You know kindergarteners will be like “Hey, you wanna trade masks? We can trade masks!” So, uh, hooray for masks.

Our local school is proposing two groups of children: one group on Monday and Tuesday, the other on Thursday and Friday, with thorough cleaning Wednesday and weekends. I’m not optimistic. I think too many people do not appreciate how easily viruses spread in the school room (i remember the September cold Every Year).

My main concern are the children from impoverished homes where their only food comes from school, the children who live in abusive homes, and school is their sanctuary, or the homeless children where school is a place where they have a roof over their heads.

We’re in CA (Bay area). My husband teaches at the high school and I did as well but am home with our 3 boys. Mostly distance learning for HS since staying with the same kids and teacher all day is impossible. Hubby is super stressed as distance learning with 170 students, labs, etc is SO much harder, but also scared since he has underlying health issues. Our K-8 boys will either do 2 full days a week or 4 mornings OR afternoons a week - a bit easier to manage for the school with no need to deal with lunch or recess. It will be a crazy year. Hoping we can all stay safe and healthy but am bracing for the inevitable 100% at home.
Thanks for sharing the anxiety we as parents are feeling. We want our kids and the teachers to be safe, but we also don’t want mental health to suffer even more. In our house, kids and parents were crying and screaming every day - no joke. Such a hard balance to strike. No one wins.

Thank you for thinking of the health of teachers! I want to be back with my students, but I want to be safe!

Love your videos, they brighten our days over here. My son is special needs and his school in New Jersey is going opening back up on September 8th with a full day 5 days a week. I very much want him to go back to school; but have decided to continue distance learning until around mid-October/early November. If there is not a resurgence of the virus, then I'll be sending him back. I hope everyone is safe and makes the best choice for their kids and family.

I'm a teacher of preK to grade 2 students...there's no way they will be able to follow the CDC guidelines for safety! NONE!! Schools don't have enough money, space, or teachers and it is developmentally not appropriate for 5 year olds to sit at a desk facing forward for 7 hours a day. There will be little learning going on as the teachers need to monitor social distance, clean, and wash hands often throughout the day. I would love to be back in the time for the US public to decide going back to in person school was important and vital was 3 months ago! But instead of following guidelines and sucking it up for a few months, US's numbers continued to rise. We have WAY more cases every day than we did when schools were closed in March. If it wasn't safe in school in March, why would it be safe now? Sigh....
