There seems to be a lot of confusion of how things work in this thread.

The ® stands for a registered trademark, and is not the same as copyright.

Copyright protects ideas and other abstract intellectual work.

Trademarks protect logotypes, slogans and names.

Registrating a trademark is a lengthy process that takes (at least) 3 months and involves several legal and governmental interactions.

It should be noted for anyone out there that it is ILLEGAL to use these symbols in commercial context without proper ownership.
