When Brava showed up on the screen (when she hacked the hack) i cheered and was so happy. But i honestly did NOT expect GENTLE to be waiting outside to save the day. INCREDIBLE. Not ashamed to say i cried the MANLIEST of tears! I never forgot about them and neither did Deku.

The best part about this show is that it highlights individuals deciding to be heroes. The world of MHA gives its hero’s endless license to be shit heads just like in the Boys and there are still people who choose to be heroes. Gentle could’ve given himself into despair entirely but he didn’t because there was a tiny part of him that still wanted to be a hero. That still felt as though he had something to protect. Gentle’s second chance is goated writing for a side character. He’s not just catching one individual (which he failed to do initially and is why he became a villain), for the briefest moment Gentle Criminal caught the hope of the entire MHA world on his shoulders. Anyone who says this show is poorly written glazes over the immaculate character moments sprinkled in. It isn’t the best at times and is often not quite as good as it could’ve been but man when this show is good it is GOOD.
