I'm a Harley rider and I just bought my first Honda Goldwing. 2007, 29, 000 miles on it, excellent condition. I love it!!! So smooooth and so quiet, I named it 'Whisper'.Yes my legs need to stretch forward, I'm 6'3" with my riding boots. I'm really enjoying this new horse. I paid $7, 500 for it. It's so well balanced the bike actually feels small.

I ride a GW 2000SE and I'm having a hard time justifying an upgrade. These machines grow on you and and their reliability is so satisfying. As for having the pegs forward ... I have forward foot rests and rarely use them except for stretching out.

I absolutely love my 2005 goldwing ABS. I keep thinking I'll trade it for a 2023 DCT, but after seeing this video, forgetaboutit!
Really enjoy your videos!

Bought 05 two years ago as my first bike and I’m sixty one. Dropped it about half a dozen times slow maneuvering. I love the crash bars..nothing but the bars touch the ground. Since then I’ve learned to make figure eights within 18’+38’parking spaces. Wanted to see just how fast it would go. 130 was about all I could get out of her.
Just had to see what she could do.
Keep it between the lines and watch out for critters and goofball drivers

TG, That's what highway peg's are for, had them on my old school Valkyrie in the late 90's, Spazz in Cali.

I am thinking my next bike might be a Goldwing.. because, to have a tow ball for a trailer.. I did see one made for my Deauville, once, never to find it again of who did it.. looking at the mono wheel trailers... get a welder, then learn to weld... or learn to make mistakes.

These are such awesome bikes. My hang-up though with the ‘wing is it’s ostensibly an automobile in sophistication, gadgetry and so forth which equates to much more maintenance and service. There’s something about that which detracts from what I like about motorcycling.

I just bought a 01 goldwing last year love the bike had a 1500 se model for six years 1800 much faster throttle a bit to quick had to get used to it. But love the bike side bags a little smaller than the 1500 and Trunk by the way
When I brought the 1800 wing I didn't notice the lack of
Foot warmer doors near the feet. Spoiled by the se 1500.

Yeah I agree.. I don't know why they don't have the cancelling turn signals on all their bikes (when doing a good thing, why stop), and I have a bike I wish had reverse on, not as heavy as a Goldwing, but still a bitch to push backwards when your feet just hit the ground.. it's also a Honda, the 2003 NT650v Deauville, that some call the Dull Ville, the bike I had before that was a 1988 Honda vt250f.. Honda's are hard to kill.
The one thing that I have found though is, that parts become hens teeth on how much older the bikes are, I suppose that is a common thing with any bike that is older than 10-20-30 years... odd thing is.. all 5 speed gear box's on these 2 also.
Q: would we need more gears, because it might be if more gears, it might just be the increments between gears would be smaller, to get to the same gear ratio of the 5 geared box.. it would seem like a joke played on us... more steps to reach that same 5th gear ratio.. unless one was a true reverse gear.

The big difference people find is.. when riding a bike that doesn't have a chain or belt, has pro's and cons.
I live in Australia, both bikes were cheap and nasty, and still are.

6th gear would be nice, and would drop the rpm 500 revs or so, based on the previous 5. That would improve the mpg from 35 to about 40. But it doesn't rev any higher than a typical V-twin. Just faster and smoother.
Pro tip: Use 2nd gear for slow mo moves.

Have you noticed any of the “wobble” with the front end or any kind of “dive” in braking or turns that has some owners getting the Traxxion Dynamics upgrades? Some say it starts around 40k miles & sure enough there’s lots of Wings for sale from various years with late 30k mileage. Just trying to decide which year is best for me between 2002 & 2017.

That "avg" mpg of 40 is because the speedo has a 7.2% error. It's really 35.

Built by alien engineers, but apparently they don't understand that in America our highways are 80mph minimum crusing speed, and you need a real overdrive. Not a pseudo overdrive that seems good on paper. Of the all the bikes made in Japan, how did they mess up the gear ratios on a Goldwing? All that torque and still screaming down the road at 80mph at high rpm? I am leaving this comment in hopes that others will complain loudly about the lack of overdrive on all Japanese motorcycles.

My Wing goes faster and farther than any V-twin I ever owned.
Don't bad-mouth a Wing until you've ridden one.
