I could listen to you talk about sheep breeds all day. I’m with you re the medium wools. So easy to spin! Romney from raw wool is indeed a completely different experience than from commercial top. I am looking forward to seeing all you luscious fleeces, very motivating for me to get back into my fleece stash. Fleece stash parade! Yes. Please. 🥰

"the chaos goblin needs fed" I feel seen :D

I'm new to fiber arts and had no idea what you were talking about most of the video, but I love your charisma/energy so I watched the whole thing

I have a friend she had a farm and the Sheep she had were Shetland. So she sold her form got rid of all her animals except some horses. And gave me all her fleeces washed, from the meal, Raw. And I love it because from creamy white to a grayish tan to Black. It's going to take forever for me to get through all this Shetland

I'm here for vlogmas! PJs are cool with me. I wear them all day long when I can since I work from home anyway. :) I'm not a spinner, but I still enjoy watching spinning and all things fiber related. I also sew and quilt and basically anything involving fiber, so I'm happy with any content.

I love watching your videos. I love to spin, knit and do a little bit of weaving and sewing. I loved when you said, sleep is overrated. I say that all the time and people think I’m crazy. I don’t have time to watch TV but during one of my jobs I’m able to watch YouTube videos. I work one full-time job of 48 hours per week, then two part-time jobs which averages me out to between 70 to 84 hour work weeks. I also spin on the EEW6 and am awaiting the EEW Nano to arrive on my doorstep in a few days, which I will bring to work to stay in my desk and pull out to spin an ounce or two per week. Loved watching you create your beautiful hat in episode 2.

For the first time ever, I bought a spinning advent with Cheviot, a breed I've never spun with...so pretty excited about that! I love the smell of Jacob's fleece, smells like sweet hay😊

Another great episode in the bag! But I do think you need to link to this Jacob's sheep video that puts you in a good mood. Share the love! <3

Totally agree. I prefer a springy medium fleece. I always have Romney and Shetland. Also Corriedale is so delightful and springy. And I frequently acquire glorious Romney/Corriedale cross fleeces. They are all just so lovely to work with from start to finish. I still have a 2 gallon bag of my first sponsored sheep at a farm sanctuary from 12 years ago. Romney fleece from Snowy. I just can't bring myself to use the rest of it. I think I should get a big glass jar and display it. Also, Jacob. Freaking gorgeous. Like everyone else, I could keep going. I love it all! Mystery fleeces are the best!

Also, I greatly appreciate your sharing how you work in limited space. So many of us do not have a dedicated room and have to figure out how to fit it all in...put it away-ish, set up, take down, plan plan plan blah blah blah, maneuver around dog cat man, on and on. No cooked food today...wool is being dyed. Surely you can shower around that bucket of wool? So, I appreciate how you do it like a BOSS. Thank you.

Just found you, post Christmas, but happy to be here. My first fleece was a romney, and I love returning to that breed in the fleece tent. Corriedale, romney x corrie, CVM. In late summer I bought two beautiful Shetland fleeces from a young man down the road. Washed them up then and now I can play all winter. I'm so glad to hear you're doing a Shetland breed study. Count me in:) And Happy New Year

Every year I save my fingering weight scraps from all my past projects and knit one square a day on a cozy memories blanket as an advent calendar :) It is one of my most favourite traditions.Loved hearing you chat about your favourite sheep! Makes me want to try spinning them even more

I have finally found the time to check out your channel and I loved your video! ❤️
I've been spinning for less than two years, so I didn't get the chance to process many different fleeces - I've only done alpaca and Ryeland (which I totally loved btw, but can't compare it to anything else, so can't say if it's my favourite 😅), but you got me completely curious about Romney now! I'm not doing advent, but I got a sheep study box with a few different wool tops (shame I didn't look for one with raw fleeces!), so I'll be spinning those in December. And I'm currently spinning a Jacob to turn into a pair of gloves for my partner. It's a joy to work with this fibre and the sample yarn that I made turned out wonderful 🤩
Enjoy your spinning and I'm looking forward to hearing more from you!

Love this! So great to hear your thoughts about these breeds! And also that you feel spinning from a fleece is totally different from spinning that same breed that has been mill prepped for spinning. I haven't spun much from fleeces, so it is intriguing to me!

I can't wait to see this finished yarn! I didn't get the Nest Fiber advent this year but got it a few years ago, just the 12 day. I ended up mixing it with two or three braids from stash and did a combo spin. I'm knitting my first handspun sweater, the Weekender Light, out of that yarn. So fun!

I just found your channel. Totally enjoying your vlogs and content. I'm a shetland sheep breeder so I'm so glad to hear Shetland are one of your favorites.

Though my spinning is limited to a drop spindle and limited patience to get over the learning curve (one day it will happen!), I love sheep and loved listening to you talk about them! Shetland are also my favorite, in terms of like sheep hugs/interaction 😆and in terms of knitting with their wool. I'm catching up on your vlogmas videos so far, and I'm excited to hear more of your musings!

Just found your channel and love it. I grew up on the LI and people tell me I ramble so I can relate to you on several levels lol. I love my BFL sheep, great luster.

This was fascinating to watch and to hear, I'm from Eastern Europe and my mom spins fleece manually but much slower, we watched your video together and she loves your technique and all the info about types of sheeps was amazing!

Just found your channel and I'm in love! I especially like that you show love to the medium fleeces. Not everything has to be merino! I did the Shave 'Em to Save 'Em and found so many wonderful fleeces, my absolute fav being Jacob. I have become obsessed with Jacob and fantasize about making a Fair Isle cardigan from just the various shades of Jacob. I'm also a fan of Shetland, for the same reason but those multiple horns and the Tay-Sachs gene make Jacob such a fascinating breed.
