it doesn't have to 'mean' something. You just have to know what it does... You are essentially using another language. So all you have to remember is ls list files... Don't stress over acronyms. And linux is so popular because it gives you the access to your entire system. Some people might like it and some might not. If it doesn't work for you, that's fine, use what you want to use, but if you want to have full control with a little learning, linux is for you.

Linux is a better way to control a computer system. If you like computers and want to understand the way they work - and maybe make a career as a programmer / sysadmin - Linux is a really nice way to go. Does that answer your question?

So Linux doesn't have an icon based graphical user interface like Windows? Looks pretty complicated but still I would like to try this OS (if only I would get a bit faster computer).

You need to get closer to the microphone your voice is so low on the video that I cannot hear what you are saying .I have the volume all the way up on the speakers and can barely hear a tiny voice .  To bad I am a linux beginner and really need this info .

It all seems far too complicated. Why does LS mean files? Why have to use comand prompts when you can just click on windows? I totally fail to see why Linux is so popular :-(
