hope you enjoyed this minecraft hypixel bedwars video which is not a skyblock video because i do not like skyblock it is also not an smp video because nobody invites me to those so it is simply some more hypixel bedwars. i wish i was as good as luvonox and could make epic bedwars hacker clutch videos but i am simply not build like he is. sorry for the cringe tags in the description but someone with a lot of subscribers told me this is how to gain success so i guess we will give it a go.

I appreciate the followup vid. The thing that you have to understand about battle royale is that before they added the guns to it, it was actually an incredibly well liked gamemode, and considering it was only around for such a short amount of time, it had a lasting impact on many players. This is not the first time that people have talked about bringing it back and the only thing that Tommy did was bring some hope to people who still miss the game, hence trying to show Simon that people still care by trying to get it trending. I also think that you're underestimating what having the presence of a huge creator like Tommy can do for the server - obviously it will bring in a ton of new players, and a lot of these will be people unfamiliar with Hypixel, which will sharply bring down the over-competitiveness that a lot of games on the server are suffering from right now.
I also don't think that the argument that we can't bring it back because then we would have to bring other removed gamemodes back should be made. I think that if those games had enough support, then they could be brought back as well, but those modes haven't been backed by one of the largest minecraft creators. Battle royale at its peak before guns had way more popularity and support than the other removed PTL modes.
Even if Tommy only streams it for a week, him exposing his audience to Hypixel could have a lasting effect on the server and could bring it the breath of life and interest that I think it needs. It would also be amazing to see a new 1.8.9 pvp gamemode succeed again and not make Hypixel hesitant to try to make them.

Imo there are a lot of things in this video that aren’t really correct / things I personally disagree with so i’ll just my thoughts onto it.

1) Battle Royale was really enjoyed by the vast majority of the audience up until the very end. I know you rephrased that in this video but I want to emphasize that this game was removed while it was STILL relatively successful, meaning that there is potential for it.

2) Hypixel doesn’t “need” more players, but at the end of the day, it is a business. New players bring in new money and this argument doesn’t work because it’s not strictly relative towards any specific gamemode. Any game that’s ever created on hypixel is done so with the intention of A) bringing in new players and B) retaining the current players. The amount of players on the server is irrelevant because being just successful enough is a super anti-entrepreneurial mindset.

3) As someone that’s been in the community since 2015, people have ALWAYS talked about battle royale after it’s initial release. Sure, over time the hype dies down, but the game was released over 5 years ago. It’s easy to maintain a level of confirmation bias to push the idea that you stated when it’s been that long; either way, people have always talked about battle royale, it’s just far more now BECAUSE they feel like there’s an actual chance for it to come back, as a giant youtuber is backing it up. People will be much more vocal about change when they feel like their opinions can actually create change.

4) Lastly, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the entire “trending” tweet thing that the community is doing. I disagreed with it for ranked skywars, but that’s entirely because they were doing it out of satire and it puts that part of a community in a negative light in the eyes of the staff team. This is far different - This is now about people actually wanting Hypixel to change for the better and listen to their community because the server has failed to do that for a long time. It is incredibly important for a community to be vocal about what they want because at the end of the day, Hypixel is a business, the players are the consumers, and that means they’re (generally) right.

Anyways, no hate, I enjoy your content. Just wanted to share my thoughts.

I honestly don't know what to make of the situation but I will admit, with a massive content creator commenting on the situation and then seeing an explosive increase in popularity around the topic is a little suspicious.
