People born in the town of Westerly that are older than 70 lived through a tremulous time; World War 2, the Korean and Vietnam Wars, the wide spread use of social media, 9-11, and climate change. Many of the people who lived through this time of great change are getting older, soon their stories, memories, thoughts, and reflections will be lost if not saved for future generations.
This interview with DR. Thomas (Tippy) Salimeno is the first episode in a series of digital oral histories of the people of Westerly told in their own words.
New videos will be produced by the Westerly Historical Society every month. We hope you find these stories about the people in Westerly informative and an important historical resource for future generations.
