No matter how young you look, there is always an Asian who looks younger than you.

I guess they also got more localized fat in their face(like eyes and cheeks), it works like a natural botox or something like that

having chubby cheeks/round face definitely helps

Also my dermatologist told me that oily skin ages slower as it’s doesn’t form wrinkles as much as dry skin types

I'm Filipino. I'm a marketing executive. 35. But I look 24. Whenever I'm traveling and meeting new colleagues, they always treat me like the intern until they find out I'm one of their bosses.... They quickly change their tone and behavior

Doesn't matter older or younger. If you look good, you look good.

Years ago, my mom once traveled to Australia (she was like 38 by then). A concerned looking elder couple went to her and asked “are you alone? Where’re your parents?” 💀💀💀

We only look younger when compared to Caucasian. I'm southeast asian and I can tell you that a 40-year old Asian looks 40 to us, but to Caucasians they may look 30. Ofc, you have the outliers who look older or younger than they actually are, but generally speaking we can correctly guess our fellow Asians' age range (this is how we know whether to call you auntie/uncle, adik/akak/abang 😂). People say Jackie Chan looks young for his age, but to me he looks exactly his age. So yea I think Asians looking young is relative.

I had a coworker in her 50s tell me to never remove any fatty tissue (because I said I wanted to get some fat removed from my cheeks) from my face because it will come in handy later on in life and it just stuck with me!

I'm Indian and 31 but I was born and raised in the Netherlands. I've gone through chronic stress and a severe burnout but after I started recovering and taking better care of my health again, my skin now looks younger than it did in my mid to late 20s. So what I am saying is without the skincare and healthcare I put into myself but with the burnout and such I would probably look much older than I do now. But I think being Asian helps in recovering a youthful look much better. I'm an academic and my students always guess I'm between early 20s to mid 20s. Most often 23~ which is insane. But my face indeed looks similar to how it looked around that age so that does make sense.

As a 35-yr old medical professional, I need to choose my outfit wisely and put on a dash of makeup to make myself a little bit “older” to establish rapport to new patients.

He forgot to mention that many east-asiana also really care about protecting their skin from UV rays to keep it lighter. Many use parasols on sunny days. That ofc delays visible aging

Nevertheless my japanese mom is able to guess the ages of other asians because she is used to look at those faces. Asians might look younger to white people who are not constantly surrounded by asians. Also, asian skin tends to develop pigment spots with age

Wow! Thanks for the breakdown. While studying to become an esthetician, I noticed Asian and African skin on the Fitzpatrick scale behaved similarly to each other, just different melanin pigments.

when i was younger i used to HATE my neotenous features with all my heart, wishing to be more "mature" or "sensual" like but now i love them so much! i feel lucky to have them!

i think its also cultural practices. east asians have a culture of avoiding sunlight to prevent dark skin, thus doing things that protect themselves from UV damage. and im sure their regional diets impact health

I think it has more to do with having trouble guessing the ages of people outside your race. Here in Japan people often think black and white people are younger than they are.

I've always admired Asian beauty and how they age so gracefully😍

I think the key is to protect the skin face from sunlight and enough sleep throughout youth, I'm not asian and I also look 10 years younger, people generally don't believe when I say my age, specially because for some miracle I've anti balding genes and I barely have any white hair, so I'm 38 but look 28
