IO has always been a mystery for me. It's odd that these tools aren't included by defaul to the best of my knowledge. This is pretty cool, I found out that btrfs is willing to use 100% of your IO when balancing

Great. After discover the process you could run strace to get the file descriptor id and check on /proc the file. Run gdb and try unlock the process
