I have a 2012 BMW 525 and I appreciate all german high-end cars.. Audi, MB, BMW. I think they are all excellent cars.

These fanboys who insult high end vehicles online are probably, like you said, too poor to ever own one. They are obsessed and delusional. The reality is that all of the Big 3 German manufacturers make insanely aesthetic, powerful and pleasant cars. They all have their ups and downs.

A8 W12 6.0L is designed for comfort, for family, for a stylish ride, he's big, easy to driveing, quiet, ... He's not lazy, the computer is configured like that. He has the power, do not think it does. (I got it 2 years, and I know what he can). If you want dynamic drive, all you have to do is pull the transmission in the "S", and all you'll feel is take off :)
S8 is designed for dynamic driveing. It is much more aggressive than the A8, sports, tough, .. But, and A8, and S8 is awesome cars :-)

Hammergeile Karre, hatten wir als "Hochzeitskutsche" für 4 Tage geliehen. Einfach ein unbeschreibliches Fahrgefühl, und ne absolut brachiale Beschleunigung. Aber mehr wie 285 km/h habe ich mich nicht getraut, da war die Autobahn schon verdammt schmal. Wie sagte die nette Dame in der Autovermietung, als ich ihn wieder abgab? "schönes Auto, oder? mit Orgasmusgarantie!"...

It has 5 shifting elements: 2 brakes and 3 clutches as explained in de ZF official web

This gearbox is not dual-clutch, it's a normal automatic, with torque converter, right?

@TheSteinerJ Es gibt einige Tuner (ABT, MTM, ...) die dir dein Auto wieder freischalten, kann dann aber zu einem Garantie-problem werden. Der Sinn dahinter für den Hersteller ist: wenn man den A8 offen bis 280 km/h laufen lassen würde müsste man alle Komponenten für eine Dauerbelastung bei dieser Geschwindigkeit auslegen. Also Karosserie, Reifen, Bremsen, Getriebe ect. das würde für sie bedeuten das die Herstellung mehr kosten würde und das wollen sie nicht.
