In episode eight of Ross Povey’s Zoom video interview series, “Desert Island Dials," where we ask some of our friends from the community what watch they would bring along with them, if they were on a desert island, this time we have George Bamford of the Bamford Watch Department. George talks about a few select watches from his collection, including an Anonymous dial Type D 3646, a Breitling Navitimer, a Blue Dreamer and, of course, several of his own creations.

Brilliant to get an insight into the mind of Bamford, I was always torn whether their work was genius or disrespectful. Obvious now that they are genuinely passionate about the technology and the history and do so in a very respectful manner. Great work Ross 👍🏾

The Omega Seamaster 'Commanders Watch', possibly the worst limited edition watch ever. Limited to 7007. Also, the only watch I have had instant buyer's remorse. As I went into the AD for am Omega Planet Ocean and somehow left with the horrendous 'Commanders Watch'. I swapped it for a Tudor Pelagos LHD. Which I really like.

Not a fan of the Black coated watches Bamford made. Having said that, I do like how George Bamford uses the same ethos when it comes to watches as I do. 'Buy what YOU like'. Don't get hung up on value retention. Don't buy watches as an investment. I have a fairly large watch collection. Some expensive, some very affordable and I love them all. Also, wear your watches. Don't keep them locked up in a vault all the time.
