one of the best power pop solos ever. Berton Averre just nailed it. The Knack never got the credit they deserved as musicians. Averre was top notch and Bruce Gary was a phenomenal drummer.

Dude you are fantastic. I think this is one of the best lead breaks of all time, and you killed it. All the magazine polls point to Comfortably Numb (which is indeed superb), Stairway, Hotel California, etc. But I think this is better. Imagine the creativity and dexterity of a 25 year old Berton Averre when he created this solo. He could play this well AND looked a little like Jim Morrison? That's one blessed MF'er. I've been afraid to even attempt this solo since 1979. I bow to you sir.

i never payed attention to the 102-110 part before the way i did earlier today....and had to search this out. but that alternating doubles, triplet, quintuplets variation, is one of the most brilliant things I have ever had. tough to copy, but even more brilliant to come up with....excellent job
