It's Embarrassing! Jeff Bezos Copying SpaceX's Rockets But It's Backfiring Now...
When Jeff Bezos completed his first trip to space in the summer of 2021, there was a petition that he should remain in orbit.
The petition has so far received over 200,000 signatures, clearly reflecting the public's frustration with Jeff's space company Blue Origin.
Indeed, over the past 20 years, the thing we remember most with the name Blue Origin is "Sue Origin" and "copy" rather than "innovation" and "contribution".
Ironically, despite Blue Orgin's efforts to catch up by replicating SpaceX's projects, the company's achievements seem to be nothing and even backfiring.
Find out everything in today's episode.
It's Embarrassing! Jeff Bezos Copying SpaceX's Rockets But It's Backfiring Now...
It's safe to say Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos have a lot in common. They have a strong passion for space travel and space commercialization. They are billionaires who made a lot of money from very successful businesses and then used that huge amount of money to confidently enter the space industry.
It's Embarrassing! Jeff Bezos Copying SpaceX's Rockets But It's Backfiring Now...
Bezos could afford to found Blue Origin in 2000 when he made a lot of money from Amazon. Two years later, SpaceX was born based on the money Elon Musk made when his company was sold to PayPal which was then bought by eBay.
Now, more than 20 years later, let's take a look back and see how far they've come.
SpaceX is currently dominating space with many record-breaking achievements while Blue Origin is always a follower.
The key point here is the Elon Musk team's spirit of not being afraid of risk and failure.

BO builds when they are almost out of a Government contract and then gets it renewed and just bilks us for millions with nothing to show but props and proposals.

There is one thing wrong with BO, is that it does not have a genius as a leader. Go SpaceX StarShip ‼️‼️‼️‼️

I think Musk's pithy comment about Blue Origin sums it up rather well - - "You can't sue your way to the Moon".

The difference really is motivation. Musk's vision is to make humanity multi-planetary in his lifetime. Bezos wants to move manufacturing off Earth and into habitats in space. That just isn't going to happen in any human lifetime. As such, Musk has been able to attract the very best engineers willing to work ridiculous hours to see that vision come to fruition. Blue Origin's engineers work their 9-5 because they just don't share that motivation.

25 years and still BO hasn't placed a single Kg into LEO. By any reasonable and even unreasonable standards, BO has to be considered and epic failure. BO has just been a side hobby for Bezos. There really isn't any other way to evaluate it.

Kind of like you neighbor who has had an old 60's classic car on cinder blocks in their back yard for 25 years always talking about how nice it will be once he restores it. You neighbors problem is he doesn't have the money to properly restore it. That is not a valid excuse for Jeff.

I wish BO luck with their NG rocket, but luck doesn't get rockets into orbit. Everything they are going to try with this 1st launch and it will be brand new. What is the likely hood that it all works perfectly in this 1st launch? It is reasonable to expect a few test launches to work out the bugs. Even the Saturn V had issues with it's 2nd launch, Apollo 5 and that was after a successful Apollo 4 launch.

I don't know for sure, but I am guessing NG is about 2-3 years away from being able to re-fly it's 1st stage on any kind of regular basis. I wouldn't be surprised at all if that slipped to 4-5 years at normal BO pace. Exactly where will SX be in 4-5 years? BO should of purchased ULA about 2 years ago..

BO is afraid of failure. You can’t be innovative if you don’t want to fail.

I don't understand comparing Blue Origin's rocket which has never flown to Starship which is in early development. No mention of the highly successful Falcon 9 which launches more mass into orbit than the rest of the world combined.

To me the driving ambition of Bezos is more money but he is not smart enough to compete with Elon Musk

Jeff Besos needs to stick to what he knows. Just because you were successful once, doesn’t mean you can do anything. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Edit: Elon is an anomaly.

Burn-out has been SOP for managing labor costs in US corporations. It lowers labor costs by limiting vacation time, retirement benefits, and any other accumulated benifits. Plus lowers medical insurance by forcing out older workers. This has been taught at business schools since the 1970s at least.

I bet if NASA would ask SpaceX to launch those 2 satellites to Mars they might be able to met the lau window.

One company has launched into orbit 3 new reusable rockets and 1 suborbital at this stage of testing, has 2 new engines and an upgrade due to fly soon, while the other has yet to reach orbit on 1 model, while the other is yet to fly. Obviously, leadership and team spirit are the main differences. Object lessons to be learnt?

Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos -- envy, old men trying to cause havoc, unable to repeat their one success in life based on luck.

I would like to see SpaceX buy BO . Then get it working out of spite .

There is not much copying that I see. BO working forty hours a week is crazy, they have known for the last fifteen years or more that their competition at SpaceX were working 80-100 hours a week. What did BO think would happen when they worked less than half as many hours? On top of that, BO has been slowed by their management which for a while was not providing enough parts and so on, it is almost like they have been trying very hard to lose. Maybe everyone there hates Bezos too?

They have nothing in common especially with space projects…
Whenever Musk is asked about Bezos his reply is… Jeff who?.
