If you look closely, you can even see the bubble changing shape (squishes a bit) as it lands on the fishing line!

Light does actually have momentum, but in a situation like this its negligible, as we know because we've never seen anything being pushed by light in regular life.If the light was pushing the bubbles they'd be moving to the right, not only bouncing upwards.

Regardless of the trick or not, everyone seems to think that is physically impossible.. but it's not. The laser light transfers heat into the closed container of the bubble, increasing its buoyancy.

My only problem with this is he isnt lifting the laser straight up and down, which he would have to do in order to keep the fishing line taut. How does he bounce it if the fishing line has slack in it?

How do you explain the distance of the laser against whatever the line is tied to? What about line tension? I wonder if that was also in the equation?

You know this actually possible when the bubble is a charged hollow sphere and the laser is actually a same charge ejector. Why do I say this cus I had to solve this when I was 16 and felt physics numericals must be very practical 😅😅
