That's the sound of a fighter jet. Commercial planes don't sound like this anymore, but you can hear fighters just like this at altitiudes so high you can't see them.

Guessing this is in Az based on the background. We hear this constantly specially towards Goodyear. These are fighter jets. That’s exactly how they sound.

heard this today in Sacramento. Faded in and out over a period of an hour. Thought a plane was gonna land on my house, but never saw a thing in the sky.

plane or jet. you’ll hear this all the time especially if you’re more towards the north east because of the base.

I don't know what a skyquake is, but I think thats a jet because i hear them everyday

had my window open at night as suddenly a loud noise like that wakes me up once that noises fades out it suddenly begun to rain heavily
no plane in sight and no thunder

Since Las Vegas has a ton of air traffic and has a military base it’s definitely a plane
