I did this with a honey locust (thorn tree) about 8”-10” in diameter, used concentrate roundup though. It worked great. The tree died that year and no popups around it. I learned that these trees will grow new trees off of the roots several feet from the main tree. They are very persistent trees.

What do you do after you push it over? It's still covered in Thorns even if it's dead. How do you dispose of it?

Needles on Honey locust are poisonous. Did you dilute the Glyphosate (Rdup) according to label? Can use Tordon RTU also. Need Nitrile gloves, not cloth or leather to spray herbicide.

Awesome if it works! Worth giving it a try, certainly safer than girdling. Wonder if you need to do multiple drills on larger trees?
Most of the things I have read on curling, says to use Tordone versus round up
