As a Finale user I was mad about having to learn a new program, but I am now stunned to see how great Dorico is. Thanks for the video. This helped a lot.

Great series, Anthony thank you. Each part was nicely paced and filled with useful information.

I bought Dorico when it fist came out but was not impressed and so used Sibelius. I am now moving back to Dorico. The improvements are really impressive. Nice job(s) everyone!

Steinberg has two MVPs: Antony and John. Both incredible Dorico representatives who always make truly valuable videos. I really like that piece if music Anthony composed for this series. Has a very retro sound but with some lovely chord choices. ❤

Nicely done, well summary of what most people would use the Dorico SE for; learning music theory, music composition and music production for solo and small band music as a hobbyist.

My goal was learning music via standard notation, so I start transcripting quartet music from IMSLP using musescore. Would definitely done another round with Dorico SE to see if I can go much faster than musescore.

Thanks a lot ❤❤❤

Update

Tried to create bars with dotted rest, then have exact ryhthms are hard. Seems the SE version have unchangeable default and you have to agree the generated notes equivalent 🤷 stopped at 2 measure.

I am new to Dorico, coming from Finale 26, I think. I have arranged a piece, but now, I can't HEAR the music, anymore, #1 problem at this time. I also can't "manage" my pages as I could with Finale, using the grabber or writing in words, instructions, etc. on my page.

I never learned how to this in Finale. Now, I MUST, WILL learn how to make my arrangement tracks better to send for publishing at ArrangeMe.

This technical stuff is awesome, but it is WAY OVER MY HEAD. I tell my piece where to be soft, slow, cresc/decresc, fermata, gradually slow down, etc., but my instructions are ignored. I need to change the size of spaces between staffs (I forgot the better term. I'm 78 and need 25 year old brains.) Overwhelmed!

Anthony, I'm sorry - but after several HOURS trying to get started on Dorico SE, with multiple drop outs, losses of audio, and impossibility of working out how to configure playback for different vst instruments- I'm ready to just give up with this product. Also, how on earth do you switch on/off the mute/solo buttons - they have amind of their own and ignore everything I try!

Anthony, thank you. You made a great presentation. Unfortunately, it became clear that this program is completely inconvenient to use. Although I admit that it has some cool things.

where can you get tutorials to learn all the complexities of Dorico?

How do you change the playback tempo (not the tempo of the piece) without having to use a mouse to get exactly to the right number? In other words, how do you type using the number keys the playback tempo you want?
