I would give both a 7/10. They both knew how to answer each other's tactic at some point. Nagelsmann made Spain perform much worse than they used to which is one of his qualities. They mostly shut down Yamal and Williams except for the 1-0 for spain where a cumulation of tiny mistakes in the german defence were brilliantly punished by the spanish. Some of Nagelsmann's ideas didnt work but the ingame coaching was rather successful. Germany had enough chances to go up by at least 2 goals in extra time alone.
De La Fuente was really good at outplaying nagelsmann's tactics of creating danger in the last line. That's why he made Sané and Can look useless on the pitch. Switching in Dani Olmo for the injured Pedri was brilliant because they could exploit the spaces between the german lines. This is why olmo was heavily involved in both goals for spain. However, he failed to adapt to the changes that Nagelsmann made which could've backfired in extra time. After wirtz and fullkrug came on the spanish often couldnt even build up properly for like the last 30 minutes of regular time. They had to go for 50/50 long balls against taller players. The germans just missed their chances at the end and didnt get the penalty so de la fuente got a bit lucky there.

Cucurella and Rodri were really good and Dami Olmo was really sharp the whole game.

How tf will you take Lamine and Williams off after going 1-0 up against Germany especially when their presence was even enough for the German fullbacks to not push forward, De La Fuente almost gifted the game and I hope he has learnt his lesson coz it could have gone south but Hats Off to Germany they played and gave their everything just that Spain are strong this tournament and they've been playing at a high level too.

This game should have been the final. Two best teams in the tournament

How Spain did it? Ultimately they got lucky. Even if you discount the hand ball situation, Germany had more than enough opportunities to score the second goal, including Havertz' chip ball and Fullkrug's header that just barely missed the goal.

It was a draw. Penalty was not given. Simply scandalous that such a beautiful match was decided by a referee mistake.

As a Germany fan, this loss hurt, and I'm not even German 😆

Honestly, either team progressing is well-deserved, it just came down to a bit of luck and a bit of individual moments (or lack thereof).

Imo, handball on goal-bound shot should have been a penalty, but can't complain too much.

It's the first time there's a real spark in this team in 10 years and it'll be a while before we get to see how Germany under Nagelsmann progress, especially without Kroos and likely Muller, Gundogan, and Neuer.

When you look at Germany's team setting is like the manager wanted to kill the game in extra time which at times is 50/50.

The importance of Rodri… what a player

The reason Spain won was a bit of luck, a clear penalty that wasn't given, and a moment of brilliance in the 119th. That was the game of the decade, and both deserved to win it. It's just sad that this wasn't the final. Congratulations and best wishes to the spanish team.

If united should think of replacing Ten Haag in future Nagelsman will be the best replacement I really like his tactics of playing through the press and in the center of the pitch

Im german and im fine with the result. Both teams played incredibly good, so congratulations to spain! i can only say that im happy with our teams performance, we really brought up a fight instead of just standing there and doing nothing, and last time we played spain in a friendly match it ended 6-0 for spain so there is definitely lots of improvement since then we got from nagelsmann to get a great team again.
