Little, but very useful issues to know. Thanks.

Thanks for the review and info. Have you experienced green blotches of what seems to be noice? Mine started fine but now in the shadows I get noise as green lines and square blotchy areas always in the same spot on the scanner. It’s not dirt, as I have been cleaning the glass area.

The skewed images may be from the photo physically dragging unevenly as it goes through. I have a DSmoble 600 feed scanner, and that's an issue with it as well. If a photo or document has anything that causes resistance, that resistance is naturally going to be unevenly distributed, meaning the photo will shift slightly. (Think of it like one set of tires hitting thick mud while the other side has dry road.) It could be a bit of old tape or glue on the back of a photo or maybe a rough edge at the top that the rollers have to hurdle. Like you said, turning it around and feeding in it upside down will get it in there, and it's less likely to slow down once it's in motion. If all else fails, then you simply have to switch over to a flatbed. That's how I handle things in my workflow.

Thanks Rick; how has the photo quality been? The Amazon page has lots of complaints about the quality being nowhere near the advertised max 600 DPI.

Hi, Rick. I'm trying to scan a batch of photos using the Z300, but have run into problems saving the first set. 42 photos have been scanned, but they can't be dragged/dropped to a folder. The software puts up a warning that over 688 Gb will be required, and the save step will not complete. Single photos from the same batch/session also fail with the same error. Any suggestions for a fix? This happens using software downloaded from Plustek web site.

Nice review! I'm thinking of ordering this. I have well over 3000 old photos to scan. Would you happen to know if you can scan small sizes 2x2", 3x2", etc.? Some photos I have are really small and old from the 1800's. Thanks in advance Rick!

Thanks for the excellent review. Thinking about getting one of these. Less than half the cost of the Epson FastFoto. How do you find the quality of the scanned image? I've seen some negative comments. PCMag described it as "mediocre""

After using the scanner for a few days, I started getting a message that says “10 g free hdd space is required to save these files”. And I have to close out entire program in order to save. Any idea how to resolve this problem?

When I scan, instead of just seeing the picture in the software, I see a black box with the pic inside. I then havre to crop the pic out of the black background. The black box is always the same size. I recalibrate, and restarted both the scanner and pc, didn't help.
