When you mentioned "blue and yellow make green", it reminded me of a moment in my high school art class. I was blown away to learn that, even in my senior year, the students I went to school with didn't know how to make secondary colors. I was being asked how to make orange and green by the other students. I thought it was weird because I've had that drilled into my head since I was a kid watching Blue's Clues.
This was in 2016. I'm still "green" out of high school, so it's not like it happened too long ago.

I love that you showed the clip from Earthbound to show what specifically you were trying to paint. I often google the thing you are painting so I can appreciate all the details I would have never noticed otherwise.

The part at the beginning where you showed which colors (primary, secondary...) to use for your gradient and where/how to put them was really helpful. I always struggle with gradients.

Wow mal this painting is amazing, I'd never seen the pouring and then scraping method before, really interesting way to approach painting. I also love how the starman really stands out, with the reflectiveness of the gold, really great work, keep it up 😀
