Thank you... 10 September, 2020 I lost my dear red-headed cat. He was 16 years old and had problems with his kidneys. I had to relieve him of pain and suffering. I decided to call a veterinarian for euthanasia. I am still crying and that pain is so hard. I miss him, my dear cat... Sleep well and rest in peace. That cover helps me alot... Thank you.

A lot of people love this song, but they don't even know what the lyrics actually mean.

The lyrics sound cool if you just listen to what they say, but if you pay close attention, it's actually a Buddhist/Hindu perception of what heaven is, and how someone with knowledge of it (of what heaven really is) prefers to come back to earthly life and suffer with their loved ones rather than stay in heaven surrounded by pleasant temporary lies.

Remember that the song was written by Yoko Kanno (a Japanese composer). The possibility that she's a Buddhist is enormous.

In Buddhism and Hinduism, heaven is pleasant place where people can stay, surrounded by things that make them happy (things created from their memories or desires), but that doesn't mean that the people you see there are actually there. They're creations of the mind. You can stay in heaven for a temporary period, not eternally (until your accumulated good karma is spent), then you have to come back to life (reincarnate) and accumulate more good karma if you want to go back to heaven when you die again.

In the song, the person clearly says that if he can get his past back (even if it makes him suffer), he wants to go there. He realizes that without the affections he developed in life, heaven is not enough (because the affections there are only temporary lies, only seeing what you want to see)

In the end of the song he says: Heaven Goodbye... (meaning he's not interested in it, because it's just a pleasant lie)

It's an amazing song. The lyrics are extraordinary. Your piano interpretation was wonderful!

Wolf's Rain is my #1 anime. Run wolf warrior, gravity, and heaven's not enough are my favorites. Also, the anime reminds me so much of the bible, especially the book of revelations.
