My entire family lives in Germany 80% of them think it makes them sick. Until they spend a summer with me in Texas - where it’s above 37C for 50 days in a row, then they understand AC, !

The point is that you must not let the sunlight and the outside heat in, you need a cooler thermal wall with, for example, a wet fabric that is spread over the radiator in front of the window. Sweating can also be avoided in this way. You can save almost several thousand euros a year. Nature has a rhythm, it has always been hot, sweating is a natural thing for humans.

It makes sense given the fact that they will never know what a true summer heat is.

Living in the valley in California (in a very poorly insulated older apartment) it's necessary to have an AC. Of course energy conservation is possible, by opening windows at night time, but there are so many blistering hot summer days here where it simply becomes too hot without ac. If I lived in a cooler city in Northern CA, like San Francisco, it would be very possible to survive without an ac. It all depends on the climate you live in.

I'm an Americanized German I cant give up my air conditioning. Lol. People only use it one or two months of the year so I don't think that's bad.

you can't live without air conditioning in most cities in the Middle East. people in Berlin are privileged to have a choice of not using it really.

I don't like air con at all and totally prefer a fan. But there are some days and nights during the Greek summer that people can have health issues without air con. And places like the tube, banks, malls etc would not be able to operate without it.

Never even saw an a/c from ‘69 -‘81, rarely hot enough at noon to need one, never at night. They wouldn’t be so keen if they lived in a warm country

The government is not going to tell me if I use my a/c or not!

In Italy without air conditioning we die. From May to October at least it is needed.
