Never forget. 353.000 innocent souls ask for justice

On May 19th 1919 Mustafa Kemal arrived in Samsun, which marked the beginning of the „Turkish War of Independence“. After his arrival more than 350.000 Greek Pontics civilians were massacred by the turkish army. Today, 100 years ago lets remember this day and may every Greek who died rest in peace.

The saddest part is that the "Republic" of Turkey was doing these horrible things. Mustafa Kemal was an evil and cruel man yet the Turkish people worship him as the father of democracy in Turkey, and that sickens me

my great great grandparents from my papou’s side were from pondios, they had to escape from the genocide. luckily they made it back to mainland Greece safely, my papou was born in serres.
