Retevis was kind enough to send me this radio for review. Is it any good?

I have a Retevis RT3S. I bought is specifically to use OpenGD77 on it. Most of the Retevis stuff is pretty well built but I think this one might be a little pricey for just a 70cm band radio. Good review! 73

I think making handheld radio with more than 5W power is simply stupid. More weight or less battery life, heat problems, worse response to usually bad swr from the antenna/human body system. As you said, for digital radio it makes no sense even more when using repeater or hotspot. Even 1W radio would be great. Double the power is half S unit more. When outside, you gain much more range walking few steps right or left, or rising your hand with the radio. Unfortunately false marketing also steps in the amateur radio.
