I was really annoyed with how ' fans' treated this song, but separating from that this recording is so cool! It feels frantic and maniacal like you were singing a cute song but just started spilling over with anger and emotion, it feels like a rush it makes me so excited

I’m not a huge like country music person (For example, I really love the songs where she screams, like the Live version of Not with Big Thief.)
But what I can say is that I absolutely love this song.
I love the lyrics, I love the way she sings, I love the torment the song implies. (I mean I’m sad she was tormented, but it makes for great music and connecting with people.)

I think that really makes all the difference in the world. It’s easy to just write things off as “no I don’t like it because I don’t like country music” but when you have something so undeniably raw and authentic as this, you just can’t even deny the talent.

I love this version and the big thief version. This version sounds like the person just keeps coming back for more, "Last time in a row" and how they are struggling with that. But the Big Thief version is more like the person is just done with someone, "For the last time." It just feels like they understand what the fuck happened and they're angry about it. Its so good and im so sad that the official release got so much hate.
