Your point on Amazon Insurance highlights a seriously dangerous problem: they're going to be able to predatorily price out other insurance companies because they have broad access to private information about you, to say nothing of the surveillance devices you've purchased from them in your home. They will therefore be able to find more grounds to deny insurance claims against them than their competitors, without being bound by laws that contemplate this sort of behaviour. After killing competition the way Walmart's playbook goes, they can hike their prices and everyone will be paying dearly for insurance that rarely pays out. As certain kinds of insurance can be required to have by various governments, they have a guaranteed customer base. Regulators are going to need to watch Amazon more closely.
