Crazy to see how old this video is now, and how my views on some things have changed. Then again, I'm not collecting games nearly as hardcore as I was when this was made!

I think repro carts fine as long as they're clearly marketed and labeled as such.

I think repros are totally fine as long as you're aware it's a repro when you buy it and they function perfectly fine, but people using them to scam others gives them a bad rep

The only time when repros are bad is when the seller is scamming people to believe it's authentic.

Otherwise it's all good, I'm all for them.

Usually the people that have an issue with them are the collector's.

I hope as the quality of reproduction carts go up which they likely will, it will bring the cost of collecting authentic down. Game collecting has gotten way out of hand as far as price and the average person just starting out in 2020 or 2021 cannot afford to get the good titles. So I'm all about this, as a person that just wants to own them to play.

I don't care.. I'd rather pay $10 for metal slug advance for a brand new repro cart that plays the same game, than $350 for the original in possibly shitty physical condition. For Ninja cop on GBA, they want $1500! I'll pay $20 thanks.

I think repro carts are fine as long as they are good quality and are the actual game. It gives me a chance to play some great games i never got to before

You should make a review on repro Pokémon games, from the blue-platinum. Nice input on everything !

Honestly, as long as they’re not malicious, use the correct ROM, and label themselves correctly, I don’t see a problem.

These days, I'm repro-friendly and own a few myself, but I do have three problems:

1. The "Donor Cart" issue.

2. The "scammer" issue.

3. Here's a unique one... thing is, you never know what version of the ROM the repro-maker used. Some versions of Earthbound, for example, have a control hack that makes the menu open with X instead of A. For that matter some versions of EB Zero are bsed of the "25th Anniversary" fan hack, not the original prototype. Some people won't mind, but for purists who want to play the game as they remember it (or as it would've been back in the day), this can be a drag, especially as the repro makers usually don't advertise (or even know) that they're using a fan-hack. This is why I always ask first.

I have repro mother 3 and mother 1+2 and it's amazing. honestly as long as it's clear it's not the real deal I think it's absolutely great.

I've been debating on getting some repros. I don't really care about the collectibility of these games so I don't mind getting one. I just wanna be able to relive my childhood days of playing Pokemon Sapphire on my GBA without paying a premium for it, along with other games like Minish Cap and such

I like the idea of repros, as long as people don't try to pass it off as the real thing

I don't care if it is real or fake, as long as it works on the system

Bad but if the game you want is super expensive if it's real they are good (unless it's Pokemon games it's always bad)

Just watched this. Recently ordered a pokemon silver version. I knew it was a repro but I love it. I mostly want it for a collection that I can look at and sealed copies are like 500 bucks. While I would like that I'm to broke for it. Lol. Glad I found this video on Google. It was helpful. Thank you

Only ok when the cart is a translation, or a repro of a really rare and expensive game, such as Shantae for the Gameboy Color.
