"Highlights from Gravito-Inertial Asteroseismology"

High-precision photometric light curves assembled by space telescopes have allowed for the probing of stellar interiors via asteroseismology. Applications to sun-like stars and red giants are meanwhile standard practice. After a short introduction, this talk focuses on the recent and challenging case of gravito-inertial modes in rapidly rotating stars born with a convective core. We discuss how such modes lead to estimates of the internal rotation and chemical mixing in the transition layer between the convective core and the radiative envelope. We highlight how current asteroseismic estimates of mixing affect stellar evolution models. The outcome of gravito-inertial asteroseismology provides new input for chemical yield computations and galactic evolution. We end with exciting opportunities for this booming research field of astrophysics, from data-driven modelling based on the integrated exploitation of the ongoing NASA TESS and future ESA PLATO space missions, Gaia astrometry, and ground-based spectroscopic surveys.
