Want to eke out a bit more performance on your Sport Bike? Perhaps your bike is a bit portly and you’re looking for ways to shed a few pounds? Maybe modern catalytic converters have made your bike sound a bit too asthmatic. Well, on this episode of On The Lift, Patrick Garvin walks through the installation process for a full exhaust system on a Sport Bike so you can do it yourself! Have you already swapped your pipes? Tell us about it down below!

I really enjoy how these motorcycle retailers provide so much content like this. It's really a value-add for the motorcycling community as a whole. Great business model to fund their free content like the Common Tread videos and blog (which probably doesn't generate much revenue in isolation) with sales revenue. Retailers like Sportbiketrackgear (a great company, too) are also doing it, but it's great to see Revzilla, as the big dog in the industry, leading the way.

Nice one. However, I always fear nitrile gloves to eliminate any potential finger prints you might miss when cleaning the exhaust before it’s first heat cycle. If you don’t those finger prints will end up being a “mark of ownership”…. Thanks Patrick. 👍😎

Good to see Patrick out in the wild, rather than a podcast.

Cool that they hook you up with a spring tool. A small perk, but it is cool of them.
Hopefully the Two Brothers have enough time to continue making parts. That Mexican Armada probably keeps them busy.

Do more videos on different bikes and different exhaust systems.

Pretty good, I understand why you'd show a full system install because it's more involved. Truth is most ppl will have a slip-on because that is road legal (besides maybe some countries).

What a timing. My akrapovic full system just arrived today. This might motivate me to get it installed myself.

I recommend not tightening the headers until you get the muffler on. Give yourself wiggle room.

With no clearance, won't that exhaust melt the fairings where it touches them?

Great video now that I need to get my '09 R6 back to stock, cause the previous owner had a full system and it's waaaay too loud for the street

Thank you, replaced the header and one gasket fell out didn’t bother trying to wiggle any in the other outlets. Left everything the way it is and now has a flap noise.

installing an aftermarket exhaust like this one - full and without a cat - can and does decimate low-end torque due to something called scavanging. Most wont even care, but for those with smaller displacement bikes, you're gonna notice it.

If I have a new bike can I change to a full exhaust system or I have to wait until my first service?

After changing the exhaust, if I take the bike to a flooded area….will water get inside through the joint / welded area?
