What is shown in this video is two 12AU7 valves or tubes running from low voltage - 12 volts nominal voltage, for heaters and high tension.

There are no other voltage step up circuits, 12 volts is used throughout.

It is a 0v2 configuration, a regenerative detector followed by an audio pre amplifier stage feeding a pt-156 interstage transformer driving two triodes in push-pull.

The output is transformer coupled into a large speaker from a vintage New Zealand Sheffield Valve Radio.

Always thought to use a car ignition coil as the output transformer given the very high turns ratio, ???
