Finally Fixed In Star Citizen?

Are Ecores finally fixed in Star Citizen? For a long time now Intel's 12th and 13th gen CPU's with e cores have not worked very well. Has CIG or Intel or Microsoft finally fixed the problem?

just tested it today, as i did a bios update which was resetting my bios settings. Hence I went into SC with e-cores enabled and still had mini lags.
Went into bios, disabled all ecores and everything was fine again

This problem is not fixed, from my point of view

I'm not a tech buff but I've noticed a huge bump in framerate lately.

Oh did you hear about AMD’s new version of Fluid Motion Frames (2) looking forward to see if that will have any effect on SC in the near future

13th gen here still have eCore issues in the PU, seems better of late. Had my 13900K intel for a while now, very very happy with it. Hope it doesn't fail but it's done me proud so far.

I got a 13700kf and use it daily. It would crash randomly after long sessions or high workload when I built it a few months ago but after updating Bios I haven't had a single issue.

i9 12700KF, enabling e-cores still tanks performance

Last year I purchased an i9-14900K pre-built gaming rig. I'm sorry I ever trusted Intel but glad I got a 2-year warranty on the system. I've RMA'd it twice thanks to faulty CPU's. On the second return I demanded a completely new system and the company complied. They pre-configured the BIOS and so far, it's holding up. The only change I made was to the fan curve. I made it very aggressive to keep this thing from overheating. That said, I'm getting excellent performance in SC. I'm terrified of overclocking and will never do that with this system but honestly, it doesn't need it. I'm just hoping that it doesn't damage itself before the upcoming microcode fix in mid-August.

I have been a loyal Intel customer for over 40 years, but after this experience I will probably never buy another Intel chip again.

"CIG TXA" option gives massive boosts, but only in certain areas (not cities?). That tech is promising!

I run a I9-14900KF and besides desktop crashes and low performance issues which is typical of Star Citizen. It does run smooth in certain areas. If I go to any highly populated area like cities, distribution centers or ghost hollow. Forget it. 20 FPS and server slow downs.

I have to use Gsync, vertical sync and limit frame rates on the card. To smooth out frame times.

Overall 3.23 has been very rough.

I’ll give it a go. My e cores have been off since buying the 12th gen in 2021 :D

My next PC has to wait for when QPUs (Quantum Processing Units) are viable for consumers. By that time Star Citizen might be released with recommended specs.

I have a 13900KS that I use everyday without stability issues. However since the first day I had it, I did enable power limits on day one.
Imo the stability issues are partially due to Intel and partially due to motherboard vendors enabling unlimited power limits by default on their motherboard products.

I am using i9 14900KF. No issues so far. But I never overclock, use an AIO and regularly clean/replace thermal paste. I also use a gen 5 nvme m.2 ssd and 128 gb ddr5 ram sticks that are the highest my mobo offers without overclock. No lags whatsoever. Could be because i opted for the most synchronization across my parts. I have fps drop in just one place though, that god damn Yela Arc corp mining outpost.

E-cores have been working since 3.23 👍🏽

could you plz try "process lasso" to bind windows and all background processes to e-cores and reserve p-cores for SC?

I'll be glad when CIG start to used more cores to split the load. I was hoping the new 9950x3d would have both ccd's with X3d but from what they say it will just be like the 7950x3d shame. but my 7950x3d did ok until it died after 11months . but when I first used it all cores was used on planets / cities and then switched to just the x3d in space but then after an update multi-cores just stopped. thats why when the 7950xed died I went for the 7800x3d. I do like the idea of more core spread the load

13th and 14th gen intel chips are dying left right and center .. E cores is the least of the problems if you have and intel chip.

Go gamers Nexus for more info on the story.. If you have 13th or 14th intel chiip i suggest you update the microcode to help it before it murders its self.

It may be a placebo effect, but for people with custom builds using any 12th to 14th gen intel, there's a BIOS setting called "Intel Dynamic Tuning" that is usually disabled by default. Enabling it, then installing your manufacturer's Intel DTT driver (usually listed under Chipset) seems to fix the stutter issue for me and has done so for quite a while now.

EDIT: Also, the Intel APO program is now compatible with 12th and 13th gen chips, but the software needs to have specific game profiles from Intel to work.

Had issues with my 12700k. switched to Vulkan and it just felt better. Also friends on AMD have to use Process Lasso to mess around with their chips on DX11, but on Vulkan it just works

E-core was an industry problem not just SC. GamerNexus found that with them enabled on some chips games like CS2 could see up to -50% fps. Intel's e-cores and widows scheduling was the problem. These last few years have been a giant turd for Intel imo.
