OnePlus Pad 2 Review | Best Android Tablet of 2024?

Reviewing the OnePlus Pad 2, an Android tablet taking on Samsung's Galaxy Tab S Ultra and other best tabs of 2024. With its Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 performance, excellent battery life and premium specs, the OnePlus Pad 2 is certainly an enjoyable tablet. However, it's still a bit quirky and not cheap, especially if you want those accessories like the keyboard cover.

I enjoyed multi-tasking with the OnePlus Pad 2, thanks to that OxygenOS setup and beefy power. Gaming is a slick and smooth experience too, with top titles like Genshin Impact and Zenless Zone Zero running well on higher graphics settings. So you'll have no problems with PubG etc.

Battery life is another highlight on the OnePlus Pad 2. It's one of the best Android tablets I've tested, offering a full day of play on a charge - and can refill in under 90 minutes.

However, you will have to provide your own charger!

The OnePlus Pad 2 also has a decent-enough camera, a gorgeous and sharp IPS display, powerful speakers and a solid metal design. What do you reckon, tempted by this premium tablet?

I enjoyed watching this on my onplus pad #1 and I gotta say, with things going on sale thanks to the new release its a good deal. Glad they are continuing to itterate. I'm happy with mine, hope people are happy with the new one!

I ordered mine on 8th July. I checked the estimated delivery date which was 30th July. Of course it was a no show. I contacted the OnePlus help desk only to be told that the delivery date is in fact 8th August. On top of that I'm told that it will be delivered by Royal Mail, so I'd better set aside 2 or 3 days for delivery given their past performance. Customer service may have left with Carl Pei.

Dealbreakers for me is

1: the lack of an OLED screen because I use my tablets like an E-reader a lot and AMOLED black is really nice for night time reading

2: No Fingerprint sensor

3: This isn't a dealbreaker per say but it's kind of strange that the OnePlus Pad 2 has lower charging speeds than their phones do, you'd think with all that space they could at least have the same wattage chargers.

Maybe OnePlus Pad 3... Although it does sound really good, it seems pretty impressive and relatively affordable

In the Netherlands it cost 500 euro. Which is 540USD If I buy it know you get a keyboard or the pen for free. ( you have to choose ) seems like a great deal.

I opted to trade my OnePlus Pad in for the pad 2 pre-order. The new processor will be nice for gaming which I do here and there but not often on my tablet. I mainly wanted the slightly bigger screen, supposedly better speakers, better screen and storage capacity increase. The biggest con to me is still lack of expandable storage for these tablets. 128GB on the pad 1 was bordering on ridiculous for how cheap flash memory especially for bulk orders like OnePlus will get them for. That all would be a moot point if it had expandable storage, which even the pad 2 should have.

So hopefully it was worth the trade in, we'll see. My main use cases is content consumption, mainly anime and reading LN/WN/Manga on it so, probably did not need to upgrade, but if the speakers are better and the screen is better, couple with the bigger storage of offline viewing I am okay with that for the price I paid, or will pay when it gets here and my trade-in is accepted.
