“Even though Prince of Thieves was underwhelming overall”… that is some revisionist history right there. This film was huge at the time and Rickman’s performance was fantastic. The fact that this film spawned one of the biggest UK singles of all time (Bryan Adam’s Everything I do, I do it for you) was in no small part due to the tie in music video. There may be some dodgy performances in the film, but it was definitely regarded fondly in the nineties

That last line from Hoskins to De Palma did get a solid laugh out of me.

Apparently, Christopher Reeve was paid for Supergirl even though his only appearance was a poster.

"I'm Groot" and "We are Groot" Just saying those two lines paid pretty well to Vin Diesel,
even though these producer idiots could have gotten any one to say those two lines for free,
but nooo, Marvel loves too much to waste millions for pretty much nothing.

Hey, play fair. Mr. Connery donated his fee to charity and didn't have his name in the credits.

True or false-not quite sure ?....During the filming of The Greatest Story Ever Told and John Wayne's long awaited (?) role, he was the centurion who said...."Truely this man was the son of a couple of takes the director told him to say the line with more AWE, after all this was the son of God....Apparently Wayne said the line but inserted the word AWE at the very beginning of the line, quite frankly i can believe it.

John Larroquette's first acting credit was a 40-second narration for the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. He was paid in cannabis. The filmmakers rolled him a joint.

Snoop Dog being involved was ego-stroking for the producers... Penn's early work was overshadowed by his "grumpy bird" persona in the media- so humorous call back... Biehn was shafted with Alien3, so payday ensued. Connery was my favourite Robin Hood (opposite Audrey Hepburn) in Robin and Marion. Hamill wouldn't have shown up for ep 8 due to script if it hadn't been for that ep7 appearance... so worth the 1mil... The Bob Hoskins story is one of my faves. he definitely deserved more love than he got in his career. I even watched Mario Bros because he was in it...

Brad Pitt appeared in Deadpool 2 as the Vanisher. An invisible hero. He only appears on screen for a few seconds when the Vanisher becomes visible when he gets electrocuted by some power lines. He only asked for a cup of coffee to be delivered by Ryan Reynolds on the day of the filming.
Pitt also “appeared” in IF with Reynolds as “Kevin”. Kevin is an invisible imaginary friend that people trip over. He never appears on screen.
Reynolds appeared in Pitt’s Bullet Train as Carver. Who only appears for a few seconds.
These two seem to be appearing in each others movies for brief cameos or mentions.

I want to thank you for providing Ving Rhames' salary for "Ghost Protocol". I haven't laughed that hard in months. Any idea how much Keira Knightley earned for her wordless cameo in "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales"???

Getting paid for doing "nothing" is great work if you can get it.

Sometimes, actors are cast for name value, not for ability.

Reminds me of Marlon Brando in Superman.

Some sources (imdb) claim that Sean Connery earned $ 1, 900, 000 on his role at Robin Hood Prince of Thieves.

Apparently pronouncing ‘Marlon’ is difficult for some.

If you wanna talk about actors that get paid to do nothing, then WWE would be at the top of that list 😂 it ain't a movie but they have actors 😂

Can we stop describing amounts in the hundreds of thousands of dollars as "insultingly low" for at the time very not well known actors who take on big budget films? Few people knew who Daisy Ridley or John Boyega were before The Force Awakens.

For Robin Hood, I heard at the time that Connery was paid $5 million. $250K is a bargain.
