How much faster do you think a bike like this would make you? 🚴💨

The Canyon TT bike is BEAUTIFUL.. Canyon needs to ship me one

Finally an affordable bike and not a super bike. Additionally a comparison of the new Canyon Aerod with the tri bar setup to the Canyon Speedmax CF would be super cool.

Thanks for making this video mate, shame to see all the moaners in the comments. I’ve been riding the 2023 version of this bike (only difference is the stem), and have noticed a couple extra’s which haven’t been mentioned (took me a while to figure out too!).

1. Top tube snake: you can slide your chain breaker, spare links, even the tool kit that comes with the bike into the top tube snake, wedging it in with the other equipment. And a spare tube, rolled up on top of it. I dare say you could squeeze two spare tubes into it, but I’ve not tried.

I’ve got no saddle bags or any other storage at all, everything fits inside the frame. You can’t do this on the more expensive models.

2. Bento box: I can fit ten gels in it. The bottom bracket box is used as a “bin“ for used gels. You can’t do this on the more expensive models.

3. Adjustability: massively underrated advantage on this bike. You can have a beginners position or completely stretch out to a pro level position. It’s easy to get very comfortable for Ironman. Again, you can’t easily get the same aerobar tilt, or BTA bottle on more expensive models.

in August 2023 I bought the current Speedmax CF7-disc, their lowest end Speedmax. A month after I bought it, I competed in a 70.3 that I had done before on my road bike. I was 15-minutes faster. I was very well prepared for the race and my training leading up to the race was perfect, so that also played it's part, but what I can't argue with is with my average speed. I only got to ride it about 10 times before my race, and I road it on all my favorite routes, climbs and straights. I was smashing Strava PR's on every ride that I had on my road bike. I averaged 20.5mph during the 70.3. I have never averaged better than 19 mph on my road bike on a course that long.

I have ridden a Cervelo P3X for the last 4 years and love it - TT BIKE Upper level bike. Last couple years also have ridden a Trek Madone SLR9 and about 2 months ago got a new 2024 Trek Madone SLR9 -Mads Peterson edition. Ride Madone-Mads maybe twice and Cervelo once every 3 rides (rotate but ride Trek a little more only because it’s new ). When I ride I basically the same average speed on both bikes but they ride completely different. It is very interesting to see how they feel different on different parts of the same ride but results are very very similar.
I think as long as you have a top line bike -Road or TT/Tri bike they will perform similarly. Just my experience.

I did my first Ironman on a cannondale aero TT bike. I then saved up the $$$ for the Canyon speed max cf . I absolutely love it! And plan on another Ironman in 2025

The difference for me was huge. Once I got used to it (couple of weeks), and got a decent bike fit (Matt Bottrill), we're talking 5kph for the same power over my Giant Defy endurance road bike.

We already knew the results from previous youtube videos, but we don't know if the power was kept the same in all 3 runs. You might have conserved energy when riding the regular bike while going all out with the featured bike.

I have both.. In a 30 mile ride, I can shave minutes off on the tt bike. 18mile average overall compared to 19.5ish.. But surprisingly, I can get the same times on a road bike with aero bars. Plus, a road bike is a bit more nimble..

Entire video was just an excuse to make an ad for that bike lol

im looking forward to ride my self-build china Tri bike tt912..
i have been racing on my aluminium tcr with tri-bars, and have solo training 90k pb sub 2:45.
my tt92 built was completed during Ramadhan, so i never had the chance to try it at full energy at disposal
tho the gearing is totally different, going from 50/34T to 1x 54T mechanical

For safety and some aero some be worn. Love the video and the fact you added the clip on bars to show that they are not as fast as a tt bike...and with a tri bike you will run better too.

I have been trying to get comfortable on the TT bike. After 2 + hours on the TT I find I become less comfortable and start spending a bit more time on the bull horns instead of the aero position. You commonly see this in the second half of an IM. Many people riding Triathlon bikes in a non aero position. We are not all limber serious athletes.

It would be interesting to see how Triathlon Bike in non aero V road bike, and is there a level at how much time you need to spend in the aero position before it starts been counter productive.

I bought my first road bike, 2 weeks after I put some aero bars on it and after that I wanted a tri bike, even I dont di triathlon at the moment, just want it to be faster and more comfortable bcs I really enjoy the position on the aero bars the most

That bike is stunning and would probably gain me a couple minutes in placebo confidence alone! That being said, I'm too tall (6'6") for any used bike options and family and medical financial priorities mean I'm stuck with my 12 year old motobecane carbon internet special 😬🤦. I have a half ironman coming in Sept. Could you do a video of the best bang for your buck add ons and accessories like aero bars, socks, helmets, bottom bracket, chain, etc.? I'll just continue dreaming of a canyon aero bike for now and grind away at V02 max gains!

what about the different power used? would be nice to see average power held on all rides and then compared the time differences to see if you are any faster

When will there be braking possible in the aerobars?
