The RA17 can receive signals below 1MHz, however, with degraded performance, eg. there are a number of spurii present and the pre-selector does not tune (frequency depending on model), so the 'wideband' setting must be used. With the LF converter, the 'Wadley Loop' in the RA17 is disabled, however, stability at these low frequencies with conventional free-running oscillators is quite adequate.
