He purged his prisons and phsyc wards during the "Mariel boatlift" and gave an open door to anyone who opposed his rulership and as a way to cause damage to the US for their meddling in internal affairs. I was born on the island but will never return not until it all changes, the same promise my grandfather made but can no longer keep.
