Tilted Arc #1 by Greg Reiche

This piece is titled Tilted Arc #1 by Greg Reiche. It’s made out of steel, glass and stainless steel brackets for the glass. There are both iridized and dichroic glass in the sculpture. Over time Reiche has fine-tuned the design of the brackets to allow the most movement by the glass creating hypnotic motion and wonderful color patterns on the ground as breezes including high velocity wind move through the panes. At its tallest point, the sculpture is 60 inches. It measures 84 inches end to end and the depth of the arc is about 3 feet. There is no installation, the sculpture sets nicely on a level surface. It weighs approximately 325 pounds. The steel will continue to rust which is its natural patina. Greg’s steel and glass pieces can withstand extreme weather including hail, wind, and humidity. Currently these sculptures reside in various cities across the United States.
