Carthage is by far my favorite civilization to learn about, but there's one thing about them that makes reading on them VERY annoying. Every general is either named Hannibal, Hanno, Hasdrubal, or Huno. And there's like fifty hannos and hunos a piece.

Absolutely quality stuff. A brilliant take on one of the most fascinating and brutal conflicts of the ancient world.

I loved the sheer number of units being moved around, and the real-time events being shown clearly. Great video.

man the story of the punic wars never gets old no matter how many books and documentaries you would delve into. This epic rivalry between the awesome 2 cities, wars on scale never seen before spamming arround the entire Mediteranean, massive land and sea operations and most of all the perfect theater to reveal the geniuses of legendary generals.

My goodness this have to be the greatest roman generation. Survived the Hannibalic War and was apart of the rapid expansion of the Republic into the Greek East, taking on powerful and established Alexanders succesors.

And the fact that Polybios actually lived not far in time from this period (unlike pretty much the other historians dealing with Roman republican history ) and that he accompany Scipio...errr son ? (dont know which one ;)) makes the things even more authentic.

The strategy Hannibal used against the Iberians at the Tagus river is similar to what he used against the Romans at the Battle of Lake Trasimene. Using campfires to fool the enemy, and then pulling a surprise ambush attack for the win. As Sun Tzu says "All war is deception." Hannibal was such a brilliant strategist that I sometimes wonder if he got his hands on a copy of The Art of War before commencing his campaign against Rome.

Superb content. I've read so much on Hannibal and this campaign but still learning little details from this. Fantastic

You are inevitably going to become huge in no time. The visuals are phenomenal.

I really like the strategies Hannibal used, most of them being traps and secret flanking that show how cunning he was
Also, This is a really good video, because in the same amount of time of all your videos, you mashed a lot of battles instead of one, and detailed the strategies perfectly

As graphicly clean as BazBattles and Invicta, as easy to listen to as Historia Civilis... There are lots other channels I could cite, Kings and Generals, Hystoryden etc your young channel is right there with them.

Keep up the good work dude, you just won another sub.

Levantine here and so was Hannibal and all Phoenicians/Canaanites. Thank you for not making the same mistake History Channel did with Hannibal depicting him as something he wasn't. Keep it up. New fan.

3 years later, and we're still not all the way done with Hannibal. The production quality and effort of these videos cannot be overstated. It truly is incredible.

Great video, loved the new animations, + the swinging signs at the end, that was really cool.
Like the bird, owl at night, building and other sound effects...adds a lot :)
I have been at Sagunto Saguntum really cool site mixture of pre-Roman, Roman medieval and later fortifications all copy and pasted together-worth a visit.

Right, I'm off to bed. I'm still not back to full health and I stayed up to upload the video for you guys. Then, as usual... I stuck around to answer some of the initial comments before bedtime. But my body and soul is spent. I need to replenish them. And my IQ points are also wasted, all 30 of them... need to recharge.

Excellent video: I love the way you went into glorious detail with respect to Hannibal's conquest of the Iberian peninsula (a subject often overlooked by many historians).

Within a minute I was completely floored by the production quality. It's something I have rarely seen and something that I would definitely not have expected from a new channel with just a handful of vids.
I fully understand that it takes a while for each new part to appear. Thank you very much!
