Doesn't that totally distort the projection when you're using a given texture? (Works ok when using procedual generated and then baked textures of course..)

What did you click to get the uv mapping window when you said "and then unwrap it fast"? My menu has less options when I click u

After click u on a face and selecting unwrap while in face mode the uv of the face is not straight, it loops around the existing uv. I am using blender 2.79. What did I do wrong?
