TARPON Fishing Off the Beach Using LIVE Pinfish (Tips & Techniques)

In this video, I went fishing for BIG tarpon off a beach near Tampa Bay, Florida. At the beginning of the video, I show how I catch my own pinfish for live bait using dry chum and a cast net. Then, I discuss the techniques I utilize to catch migrating tarpon off the beach during late spring/early summer. After hooking into a couple solid fish, I then go over the tackle and gear I used while giving some last second tips at the end of the video.

Finally got my first 100 lb er down in Sanibel last year. We measured him boatside and it was 6’2””. And it was also on a big live Pinfish. I must have hit it right in the mouth as soon as it hit the water I was hooked up! Took about 23 mins to get it boatside but man what an epic fight!😎

Another nice video... Just moved into the area a few months ago from Germany, love fishing, and really appreciate your tips. Been going out with the inlaws boat rental near the Dunedin Causeway, seems we fish similar areas. Plenty of trout, some other miscellaneous, but still looking for Reds, Snook, and Tarpon.
