I got a pair of Alden as my first dress shoes back when I was in college and it turned out to be one of the best purchase I've ever made. Five years later they still feel great and look great.

So, I went ahead and ordered a pair of shoes from JL Rocha - when they arrived and looked at them immediately I knew they were a good product. I put them on for work the next day but they went in tight and I thought "this is a mistake". To my surprise, within literally just a few steps my feet and the shoe sort of became one. Amazingly, by the time I got to my car I didn't even feel I was wearing shoes. I wore them all day at work going from meeting to meeting, floor to floor and then to a networking event. Not only they felt amazing but made my look complete, polished and finished. I will be going this route moving forward - thanks for the tip man.

I found a $500 pair of Allen Edmonds shoes in very good condition (outside of a few minor scuffs, which were easily polished out at a local cobbler) at a thrift store. Only paid $6 for them. One of my best thrift finds ever.

Good that you mentioned defects. I just purchased my first pair of Thursday boots and each boot has a deep scuff mark on each of the cap toes. I request to send them back. Not sure if I want an exchange because based on my experience when shoe companies send you a defective product the replacement is often a used or a customer return. If they don’t get it right at first often it’s a bad sign. It’s unfortunate because the boots fit nicely and are beautiful. Very nice looking shoes.

Great video and completely agree with the point on distribution model. The last 4 pairs of shoes (including the boots bought this weekend) I have purchased have all been from Allen Edmond's.
A major factor is re-crafting. I'm somewhat hard on shoes and the re-crafting service they provide is excellent. And I do go to their stand alone stores exclusively.
I will definitely look into the brand below as well.

Antonio, great video; It is true at the end you will spend more money in low quality shoes. It is like everything you will purchase you have to ensuring get the better one. Will look better and make you fell better. I learn in the Army base on the quality of boots will use. I have my first pair of jump boots for 15 years and still look new.

excellent advice. for me buying shoes is always a problem because the pairs I buy from stores never last enough, not even a year sometimes. Ill go check the brands you mentioned
