O Lucky Man! (1973) Official Trailer - Malcolm McDowell, Helen Mirren Movie HD

This sprawling, surrealist musical serves as an allegory for the pitfalls of capitalism, as it follows the adventures of a young coffee salesman in Europe. Many actors play multiple roles, giving the film a stagy tone.

Malcolm Mcdowell is one of the best ever.

A severely underrated surrealistic masterpiece of cinema.

It was one of the very few British movies dubbed into Russian and shown in the USSR. Probably because it painted a very scary picture of life in the West. This film was indicative of the shift from the earlier moral criteria towards the demoralization in the arts of the 1970s. But for us, Soviet kids, it was a window into the free world, with some decent rock 'n' roll accompaniment to boot.

How this film ever got made is an amazement to this day! And a number of the actors from A Clockwork Orange were featured in it!

Probably one of the most influential films I have ever seen.

One of those unique 70s oddities that made that decade so great and will never be made in this day and age

A very influential film. I can never forget the pigman scene.

Haven't seen this for a few years (borrowed a fuzzy, crackling VHS tape from my library) but I recall its savage sense of humor. Good times.

If you're only familiar with Malcolm McDowell because of his work in A Clockwork Orange, it's worth checking out his collaborations, with Lindsay Anderson.

McDowell's gotta be from the same ancestral tribe as Mick Jagger.

One of the finest British films ever made -love the use of Brechtian alienation devices to push the film's message home

Better than A Clockwork Orange. An underappreciated masterpiece in my opinion.

Oh Lucky Man was a very good and quite disturbing seeing when it first came out.

Probably my favorite movie. Most of the themes like unregulated capitalism, military misadventures, religious hypocrisy, and police corruption are still completely relevant. Even with the ridiculous 70s clothes, there's a timelessness to the movie.

This is a sequel to Lindsay Anderson’s 1968 film “If”
